What kind of video surveillance can I expect?

Ancaster Self Storage has 11 video cameras placed around and throughout our facility. The cameras are recording whenever there is movement detected.

Can anybody drive onto your property?

Ancaster Self Storage uses an electronic gate system which can only be opened by a security code that is assigned to each individual tenant. The code allows us to monitor who is entering and exiting the facility.

What is climate control?

Climate control is a feature that we offer. Our climate controlled units maintain a temperature of 53 to 54 degrees in the winter. This feature helps protect your stored belongings from extreme temperatures.

How do your individual alarms work?

As you enter our facility, your pass-code disarms the alarm on your unit only. As you leave, you re-arm your unit with your pass-code. Should you forget to re-arm your unit, it is done automatically for you after a period of time has past.

What is a roll-up door?

Roll-up doors are the most common door in self storage. They are accessed by sliding a latch and lifting the door upward, similar to the motion of a garage door. Roll-up doors allow you to maximize the usage of your space.

Do I get a lock when I rent a unit?

You can purchase a new lock at Ancaster Self Storage. We offer a variety of sizes and types of locks and recommend purchasing a disc lock to ensure the highest level of security.

What is the difference between office hours and gate hours?

The office hours are the hours of operation for the property. During these hours the Store Manager will be available to assist you with your storage needs or moving and packing supplies. The gate hours are when your unit can be accessed which is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

How far in advance can I book a reservation?

We give you the flexibility to book a reservation up to 30 days in advance to help you plan ahead.

What is the difference between an indoor and outdoor unit?

An outdoor unit has access from outside. An indoor unit is within the property and will require you to walk down a hallway to access your unit.

What are the payment terms?

Ancaster Self Storage strives to make your storage experience as hassle free as possible, including paying your bill. Our billing periods are every 28 days and we offer storage rentals for short or long-term. We can automatically charge your MasterCard, Visa, or American Express each month. Or you can pay by debit or post dated cheques.

What sizes are available and how do I pick my size?

We offer a wide range of sizes to accommodate your needs. Sizes are 5×10′ (50 square feet), 10×10′ (100 square feet) and 10×20′ (200 square feet). Determining the right size is easy with the help of our Store Managers who are trained to assist you in this process. To determine which¬†sizes are available contact the Store Manager.

What items cannot be stored?

You cannot store any hazardous, toxic, illegal items, for example ammunition, gasoline, or propane. Also, no food or perishable items can be stored in our spaces. If in doubt of what can be stored, please ask the Store Manager.

What if I move out early?

Ancaster Self Storage requires at least 10 days notice via email, a letter, or verbal contact. Rent is not pro-rated when vacating.
